Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei accused the United States of complicity in Israel’s actions during a speech delivered on Wednesday. Speaking at a gathering with Iran's Chief Justice and senior judiciary officials, Khamenei said the U.S. had increased tensions in the region by helping Israel carry out crimes. Despite condemning both Israel and the U.S., he emphasized that Iran does not welcome war, although it has responded forcefully when provoked.

Khamenei described Israel as a "cancer" and labeled the United States as a "criminal" for supporting the country. He warned that while Iran is not in favor of warfare, its reactions to hostile actions have been “striking and firm.” He added that if Israel had been capable of defending itself independently, it would not have resorted to seeking U.S. support, implying that the alliance signaled weakness in the face of Iranian pressure.

The statements come amid growing regional friction and ongoing international efforts to address Iran’s nuclear program and its support for regional groups. Tehran's leadership continues to assert that its military posture is reactive and shaped by foreign threats, particularly those from the United States and its allies.

Khamenei’s remarks reflect heightened hostility between Tehran and Washington, particularly in the context of U.S. military and diplomatic backing for Israel. The comments also underline the Islamic Republic’s strategic messaging as it counters perceived encirclement by Western-aligned powers.
