Iran’s intelligence services arrested 700 individuals and executed three during the recent war with Israel, accusing them of espionage and collaboration with foreign intelligence networks, including Israel’s Mossad.
Iranian news agencies, including Mehr and Mizan, reported that intelligence and security services conducted mass arrests during the 12-day Israeli air campaign, targeting what they described as an “active Zionist spy network.”
Most arrests took place in Kermanshah, Isfahan, and Khuzestan provinces. The suspects are accused of directing drones, manufacturing improvised explosives, photographing sensitive military sites, and transmitting data to foreign intelligence services.
According to Mizan, Iran’s judiciary executed three men—Idris Ali, Azad Shaja, and an unnamed third individual—on charges of espionage for Mossad and smuggling equipment intended for assassinations inside the country. The executions took place Wednesday morning following their conviction in court.
Iranian authorities maintain that the arrests disrupted several planned sabotage and assassination operations. The crackdown comes amid heightened tensions after Israeli and U.S. strikes targeted Iranian nuclear and military infrastructure earlier in June.
