Total exports for the first quarter of the year rose by 72%, reaching $1.7 billion. These figures not only reflect the growing production capacity of Turkey’s defense sector but also highlight its expanding influence in international markets.

SSB Chairman Görgün Highlights Strategic Focus

SSB Chairman Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün emphasized that the impressive growth is the result of long-term strategic planning and a focus on high value-added production.

“As the Presidency of Defense Industries, our export-oriented strategies are designed not just for short-term gains, but for sustained, long-term growth. The increase in March is a clear sign of our steady progress in exporting high value-added defense products,” Görgün stated.

The strong export performance is seen as a reflection of Turkey’s success in strengthening its domestic production capabilities and reducing dependence on foreign suppliers. The sector is expected to continue gaining momentum in the coming period.

Projects led by the SSB are enabling more advanced, technology-driven systems to find their place in the global market. In this process, public-private partnerships are playing a key role in accelerating innovation and expanding Turkey’s defense footprint abroad.
