First Since Attacks on Iran: Yemen Fires Missile at Israel
A missile was launched from Yemen toward Israel, marking the first such incident since the war erupted and signaling a potential escalation involving Iran-aligned groups.

A missile was launched from Yemen toward Israel, according to the Israeli military, in what marks a significant escalation in the ongoing war.
The launch came hours after the Houthis, an Iran-aligned group based in Yemen, said they were prepared to act if what they described as escalating actions against Iran and the “axis of resistance” continued.
While the group did not specify how it would intervene, the missile launch indicates a possible shift from warning to action.
The Houthis’ involvement heightens fears of a broader regional confrontation. The group has previously demonstrated its ability to strike targets far beyond Yemen and disrupt key shipping lanes in the Red Sea and around the Arabian Peninsula.
These actions were carried out in support of Hamas following the events of October 7, 2023.
The conflict has already spread beyond its initial scope, with Iran-backed groups in Lebanon and Iraq joining the fighting. The escalation follows U.S. and Israeli strikes on Tehran four weeks ago.
With Yemen now entering the conflict as a launch point, the risk of a wider, multi-front regional war continues to grow.
