Turkish National Defense Ministry on Thursday accused Greece of violating the status of certain islands, saying these actions contravene agreements concluded under international law.
The ministry stated that Athens’ initiatives are “unlawful” and harmful to bilateral neighborly relations.
According to the statement, Türkiye rejects what it called Greece’s “self-serving moves” and the exploitation of regional crises to advance unilateral interests.
The ministry added that Ankara has implemented necessary measures in response to the Greek actions, though it did not provide details on the specific steps taken.
The ministry emphasized that preserving international treaties is key to maintaining stable neighborly relations. It criticized Greece for undermining this framework and warned that continued unilateral actions could further strain relations between the two countries.
