June 27, 2025Clash Report
Israeli air raids on southern Lebanon's Nabatieh killed one civilian woman and injured at least 20 others, prompting strong condemnation from Lebanese officials and renewed international concern over rising border tensions.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health confirmed the death of one woman and injuries to 20 others, including at least 13 in a drone strike that hit a residential apartment in Nabatieh on June 27, 2025. According to Lebanon News, the drone strike was followed by a wave of air raids targeting surrounding areas.
The Israeli military claimed the operation targeted a site used by Hezbollah for managing fire-control systems in the Jabal Shqeif area, which they alleged was being rebuilt. The Israeli spokesperson described the attack as preemptive, aimed at neutralizing an underground project linked to Hezbollah’s operations.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam condemned the attacks, warning they represent “hostile actions and a serious threat to regional stability.” He emphasized that continued Israeli raids violate international norms and the ceasefire arrangements in place since November 2023.
President Joseph Aoun also urged the international community to act, stating that “Israel is disregarding international and regional calls for restraint,” and called on UNIFIL to reinforce its presence in the region.
Since the November 2023 ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, over 223 people have been killed and more than 500 injured in reported violations. The latest strikes mark a significant escalation, with Israel asserting that Hezbollah's reconstruction efforts breach the terms of the truce.
Lebanon's Foreign Ministry has lodged a formal complaint with the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, demanding international accountability and protection for civilians.
