Trump Announces Board of Peace Agreement for Hamas Disarmament, Israeli Withdrawal

U.S. President Donald Trump announced Thursday a multilateral agreement requiring the complete demilitarization of Hamas and all aligned factions in the Gaza Strip.

Reached under the auspices of his Board of Peace, the framework mandates phased weapons decommissioning in exchange for an eventual Israeli military withdrawal.

The diplomatic breakthrough follows extensive negotiations in Cairo brokered by Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye.

Trump detailed the arrangement on Thursday, framing it as a decisive shift toward post-war governance.

“Today, the Board of Peace reached a HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza,” Trump stated on his Truth Social platform.

He characterized the development as a monumental step toward lasting regional stability.

Phased Demilitarization Process

Implementation details are slated for publication within two weeks. The disarmament timeline dictates a staggered approach, commencing with the transfer of police firearms before progressing to the decommissioning of heavy weaponry.

U.S. officials indicated the operational roadmap will launch over the coming weeks, contingent upon strict compliance protocols.

All autonomous military activity across the enclave must cease entirely.

Diplomatic sources emphasize a rigid enforcement doctrine without exemptions for specific personnel or hardware.

The strategic objective encompasses the total elimination of subterranean tunnel networks, arms depots, and local munitions manufacturing infrastructure.

A formal verification mechanism will oversee compliance across all participating factions.

“As disarmament is completed, Israeli forces will withdraw, and the International Stabilization Force will work with a new Palestinian police force to take responsibility for Gaza,” Trump noted.

Transition of Governance

The demilitarization pact accelerates a transition away from both Hamas and the Palestinian Authority.

Day-to-day administrative control will transfer to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), an independent body comprised of Palestinian technocrats.

Hamas previously dissolved its primary Gaza administrative apparatus on July 6.

Under the new arrangement, the NCAG will manage all confiscated weaponry in direct coordination with the International Stabilization Force.

Skepticism and Ongoing Hostilities

Despite the diplomatic headway, serious operational hurdles remain. U.S. diplomats acknowledge deep skepticism in Jerusalem regarding the actual willingness of Hamas to surrender its military capabilities.

An Israeli political source suggested the current terms fail to satisfy security demands, maintaining that full demilitarization must precede any localized withdrawals.

U.S. officials stated that they were not asking Israel “anything not included in the earlier plan.” The officials expressed confidence that Israel would adhere to the terms of the agreement, noting that Trump “would be disappointed” if Tel Aviv did not agree to the deal.

U.S. officials also revealed that Iran pushed Hamas not to agree to the deal, but they were able to overcome Tehran’s attempts to influence the outcome.
