Yuri Slyusar, acting governor of Russia’s Rostov region, said emergency teams managed to extinguish the fire and no one was hurt. Russian defense officials stated that seven of the intercepted drones targeted Rostov, now a frequent target of cross-border strikes. Kyiv did not issue an official comment but has consistently justified deep attacks into Russia as responses to Russian bombardments on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.
Ukrainian officials reiterated that their drone operations are focused on disrupting Russian military logistics and power supply routes. The country’s General Staff estimates that since the start of the war, over 1.05 million Russian troops have been killed or injured, including 1,120 within the past 24 hours alone.
In Ukraine’s northeast, the city of Lozova in the Kharkiv region suffered severe damage from Russian drone and missile strikes. Serhiy Zelenskyy, head of the Lozova city council, described it as the most intense aerial assault to date. Several civilians, including two children, were injured in the attacks, which hit residential buildings and disrupted key services like electricity and water.
The General Staff also reported that Ukraine had destroyed thousands of Russian military assets, including over 50,000 drones and more than 11,000 tanks. While both sides continue to clash across multiple fronts, the intensified drone warfare points to a deepening reliance on remote aerial systems amid the prolonged conflict.
